David Gibbs became Chief Executive Officer of Yum! Brands on January 1, 2020, and has served as a Director of the Board since November 2019. He reports to the Company’s Non-Executive Chair. As Yum! Brands CEO, Gibbs leads the Company’s overarching strategies, structure, people development and culture that will drive global growth and sales and profitability at all Yum! franchise businesses worldwide. Yum! functional leaders and global brand division CEOs report to Gibbs. Since joining the Company in 1989, Gibbs has held a variety of leadership roles in all three of Yum!’s brands, including global strategy, finance, general management, operations and real estate. Previously, Gibbs served as Yum! Brands’ President and Chief Operating Officer, where he had global operating leadership of the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell divisions, with the respective leaders reporting to him. Prior to this, he was President and Chief Financial Officer from 2016 to 2019 and was the chief architect of Yum! Brands’ financial, refranchising and restaurant development strategy to transform the company into a capital-light, pure-play franchisor. He also played a lead role in the 2016 spinoff of Yum China Holdings, Inc. Gibbs also previously served as CEO of the global Pizza Hut Division, and President and CFO of Yum! Restaurants International, responsible for growing KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell outside the U.S. and China, along with having general management responsibility for several international markets. Gibbs also served as Yum! Chief Strategy Officer during which time he revamped Yum! Brands’ global restaurant operations model, as Pizza Hut U.S. CFO and in various real estate and restaurant development leadership roles in KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. In addition to his role at Yum!, Gibbs serves on the Board of Directors of Under Armour, Inc. He holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BS in Mathematical Science from Johns Hopkins University.
Paget Alves serves on the Boards of Directors of International Game Technology PLC, Ariel Investments LLC and Synchrony Financial. He previously served on the Boards of Directors of GTECH Holdings Corporation and Herman Miller, Inc. He served as Chief Sales Officer of Sprint Corporation, from January 2012 to September 2013, after serving as President of the Business Markets Group since 2009. Prior to that, he held various other positions at Sprint. Before joining Sprint in 2003, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of PointOne Telecommunications Inc., and President and Chief Operating Officer of Centennial Communications. Mr. Alves earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell University.
Keith Barr has served as CEO of IHG, a global organization that predominately franchises and manages thousands of hotels in more than 100 countries, since July 2017. Mr. Barr has spent more than 25 years working in the hospitality industry across a wide range of roles. He started his career in hotel operations and joined IHG in 2000. Since April 2011, he has been a member of IHG’s Executive Committee. Directly before being appointed Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Barr served as Chief Commercial Officer for four years. In this role, he led IHG’s global brand, loyalty, sales and marketing functions, and oversaw IHG’s loyalty programme, IHG® Rewards Club. Prior to this, Mr. Barr was CEO of IHG’s Greater China business for four years, setting the foundations for growth in a key market and overseeing the launch of the HUALUXE® Hotels and Resorts brand. Mr. Barr sits on the Board of WiHTL (Women in Hospitality Travel & Leisure). He is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and is currently a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for The School of Hotel Administration, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
Christopher Connor served as Executive Chairman of The Sherwin-Williams Company, a global manufacturer of paint, architectural coatings, industrial finishes and associated supplies, until 2016. Mr. Connor held a number of executive positions at Sherwin-Williams beginning in 1983. He served as Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to 2015, Chairman from 2000 to 2015, and served as Executive Chairman during 2016. Mr. Connor is Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and serves on the board of Eaton Corporation plc.
Brian Cornell became Non-Executive Chair of Yum! Brands, Inc. on November 19, 2018, and has served on Yum!’s board since 2015. He is board chairman and CEO of Target Corp. and is responsible for Target’s global business, including the company’s more than 1,800 U.S. stores, digital properties and 323,000 team members. Mr. Cornell joined Target in August 2014 after more than 30 years in escalating leadership positions at leading retail and global consumer product companies, including three CEO roles and more than two decades doing business in North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America. His past experience includes time as both a vendor partner and a competitor to Target, and he brings insights from those roles to the company today. Mr. Cornell currently serves as chairman of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA). He is also a board member for Catalyst and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, and previously served as a director for other global brands, including The Home Depot and Polaris Industries. He earned a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1981 and attended its Anderson School of Management.
Ms. Domier is Chief Executive Officer of Advantage Solutions, a leading North American provider of outsourced sales, marketing and business solutions to consumer goods manufacturers and retailers. She served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Advantage Solutions from 2010–2013 and, under her leadership, the company is developing digital technology solutions to help support brands and retailers in addressing challenges faced in today’s omni-channel world. Ms. Domier joined Advantage Solutions in 1990 from The J.M. Smucker Company and has held a variety of executive-level positions in sales, operations and marketing. In addition to her duties as CEO, Ms. Domier is a member of the Board of Directors of Nordstrom, Inc. and Enactus, an international nonprofit organization promoting entrepreneurship for college students.
Mirian M. Graddick-Weir has served on the Yum! Brands Board of Directors since 2012. Ms. Graddick-Weir served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Merck & Co., Inc., a pharmaceutical company, from 2008 to 2018. From 2006 until 2008, she was Senior Vice President of Human Resources of Merck & Co., Inc. Prior to this position, she served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Employee Communications of AT&T Corp from 2004 to 2006. Ms. Graddick-Weir served as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources of AT&T Corp. from 1999 to 2004 and held various executive positions throughout her career with AT&T, which began in 1981. She served as a director of Harleysville Group Inc. from 2000 until 2012.
Thomas C. Nelson has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of National Gypsum Company, a building products manufacturer, since 1999 and was elected Chairman of the Board in January 2005. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Nelson served as the Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of National Gypsum Company. He is also a General Partner of Wakefield Group, a North Carolina based venture capital firm. Mr. Nelson previously worked for Morgan Stanley & Co. and in the United States Defense Department as Assistant to the Secretary and was a White House Fellow. He serves as Director of Carolinas Healthcare System and as lead Director of Belk, Inc. Effective January 2015, Mr. Nelson will serve as a director for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
P. Justin Skala is Chief Executive Officer of BMI Group, the largest manufacturer of flat and pitched roofing and waterproofing solutions throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Prior to this role, Mr. Skala served as Executive Vice President and Chief Growth & Strategy Officer for Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE: CL), responsible for the company’s commercial growth activities, including sustainability efforts and global marketing. Mr. Skala spent 37 years at Colgate-Palmolive, having worked in every region of Colgate (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, India and Russia), and in every one of its product sectors (oral care, personal care, home care and pet food). Prior to this, he served as Chief Operating Officer, North America, Europe, Africa/Eurasia and Global Sustainability. He also served as President of the company’s largest divisions, including North America, Latin America, Greater Asia and Hill’s Pet Nutrition, North America and held a number of general management, marketing and sales roles around the world. Mr. Skala holds a BA from Northwestern University and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Paris) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Annie Young-Scrivner is the CEO of the Wella Company, one of the world’s leading beauty companies with iconic brands including Wella Professionals, Clairol, OPI, Nioxin and ghd. Prior to joining the Wella Company, Young-Scrivner served as CEO of GODIVA Chocolatier, where she accelerated the company’s growth with expansion into new channels and categories, served as the driving force behind GODIVA’s social impact efforts to empower women and led the enhancement of its digital experience. Before her time at GODIVA, she served in a variety of senior executive roles at Starbucks Corporation, including Executive Vice President, Global Digital & Loyalty Development; President, Teavana & Executive Vice President of Global Tea; President of Starbucks Canada; and Global Chief Marketing Officer & President of Tazo Tea. Prior to this, Ms. Young-Scrivner spent 19 years at PepsiCo, serving in senior leadership positions in sales, marketing and general management. She serves on the Board of Directors of Tiffany & Co., and has served on the board of Macy’s, Inc. Ms. Young-Scrivner holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Foster School of Business, University of Washington, and an Executive MBA from the Carlson School of Business, University of Minnesota. She has also had executive education training at Yale School of Management, IMD in Switzerland, and the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
