Andrea Whitney
Chief Communications Officer, Yum! Brands, Inc.
Andrea Whitney is the Chief Communications Officer at Yum! Brands, responsible for building and protecting Yum!’s global reputation. In this role, Whitney leads Yum!’s internal communications, including executive communications, creative services, multimedia and events. She spearheads the Company’s external communications as well, which spans both proactive storytelling, including owned and earned media, and issues and crisis management. Whitney is also the President of the Yum! Brands Foundation, in which she oversees the work being done to support employees during times of disaster and other community-building and philanthropy initiatives.
Since Whitney arrived at Yum! in 2013, she has been instrumental in the Company’s multiyear transformation strategy, communications leadership over three successful CEO transitions and the acquisition of five companies including Yum!’s fourth brand, Habit Burger & Grill. She also oversaw Yum!’s five-year, $100 million Unlocking Opportunity commitment to remove barriers to culture, opportunity and belonging, education and entrepreneurship for all around the world.
Before Yum!, Whitney spent nearly 20 years in communications consulting across a diverse client portfolio, working primarily on mergers and acquisitions and establishing a communication practice in Hong Kong for what is now Willis Towers Watson. She is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio.
