Read more »]]> Last week, KFC South Africa’s Add Hope initiative achieved a record high of R1.2 million in donations in one week.

This milestone came after a successful campaign for the month of May, as the KFC Add Hope team rallied South Africans to come together in the Hope Against Hunger challenge, raising a total of R4.8 million for the month, and raising awareness for International World Hunger Day.

KFC’s global Add Hope initiative began in South Africa, and since its inception, the inaugural program has raised over R387 million through KFC contributions and customer donations.  Every cent of customers’ R2 donations goes toward feeding children in local communities. With this generosity, the Add Hope program is able to feed over 120,000 South African children nutritious meals every day.

In celebration of Add Hope’s most successful week to date, KFC South Africa enlisted The Hope Squad, a group of individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by Add Hope, to visit local stores and share virtual reality experiences with customers, showing them where their R2 donations go.  Some of the organizations that benefit from Add Hope donations around the country include JAM, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa and Africa Food for Thought.

Yum! China has wrapped up their 2015 World Hunger Relief campaign with amazing results. KFC, Pizza Hut and East Dawning came together under the powerful theme ‘Love Connects Us All,’ collecting nearly $3 million from employees and customers in China in just two weeks! This tremendous effort will provide over 11 million meals for women and children and shows the Huge Heart of the China team who marked another strong campaign by in their words ‘doing common things uncommonly.’
