Social Media Users Say They Would Line up to Sit Down at New Pizza Hut Table
March 12, 2014
Earlier this month, Pizza Hut unveiled a high-tech concept for dine-in ordering: a touch-screen tabletop that allows customers to choose their size and topping choices by interacting with the table-top via simple hand- touch gestures. The idea and promotional video have since gone viral, with more than 7,400 social media mentions and 11 million potential impressions since March 5th. The video has received more than 1.2 million views on YouTube over seven days and social media mentions have originated from more than 20 countries, including the U.S., Canada, U.K., India, Russia and Brazil.
Developed by Pizza Hut and Chaotic Moon Studios, the interactive table guides customers through the pizza creation process using step-by-step visuals. After placing their orders, customers can play games on the table’s screen while waiting for their meals, then use its payment features when they’re ready for the bill.
Although the brand hasn’t specified when or where it will take the table from concept to restaurant, fans across the world are saying they would love to try it.
