Partnership supports National Urban League's Young Professionals Initiative

LOUISVILLE, KY (July 29, 2005) - Yum! Brands has launched a national, strategic partnership with the Urban Influence Magazine (UIM), a newly formed official publication of the National Urban League (NUL) for emerging African American professionals.

"Yum! Brands is proud to be a strategic partner of the new Urban Influence Magazine because it will provide tools to help emerging leaders develop," said Jonathan Blum, Yum! Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, Yum! Brands, Inc. "The partnership reflects our commitment to diversity - our global culture is actively developing a workforce with a broad mix of backgrounds and the new magazine is designed to further professional development. Diversity helps drive all aspect of our business - from careers and franchising to supplier development," said Blum.

Yum! Brand's sponsorship with the new Urban Influence Magazine will also include hosting regional recognition events to honor emerging influencers as well as advertising and website activity.

"We are very pleased and excited about the partnership with Yum! Brands to support the expansion and marketing of Urban Influence Magazine", said Marc H. Morial, President and CEO, National Urban League. "Yum! Brand's commitment to this publication is groundbreaking and serves as an essential step in helping the League to reach the next generation of new leaders and key influencers."

Tamara Brown, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Urban Influence Magazine states, "Yum! Brands is the first company to partner with us in such away that we can clearly see how much they value communicating with this audience. Urban Influence Magazine is pleased to be the conduit for building the strategic relationship between Yum! Brands and the National Urban League."

Yum! Brands Inc., based in Louisville, Kentucky, is the world's largest restaurant company in terms of system restaurants with nearly 34,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries and territories. Four of the company's restaurant brands - KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Long John Silver's - are the global leaders of the chicken, pizza, Mexican-style food and quick-service seafood categories respectively. Yum! Brands is the worldwide leader in multibranding, which offers consumers more choice and convenience at one restaurant location from a combination of KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, A&W or Long John Silver's brands. The company and its franchisees today operate over 2,900 multibrand restaurants. Outside the United States in 2004, the Yum! Brands' system opened about three new restaurants each day of the year, making it one of the fastest growing retailers in the world. The company has been recognized in Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the "30 Best Companies for Diversity" and for the past two years in Fortune's top 50 "Best Companies for Minorities," claiming the number-one spot for "managerial diversity."
