About the 2010 Report

At Yum! Brands, we're a company with a huge heart. Since we were founded in 1997, our people and responsibility have been at the core of what drives us. As we strive to become the Defining Global Company That Feeds the World, we recognize that corporate social responsibility is an important part of how we conduct our business around the globe.

In our second Corporate Social Responsibility report, we are pleased to report on the progress we've made and the opportunities we've identified to continue raising the bar and driving results for our company and our stakeholders. Some of the highlights of our progress since 2008 include promotion of a Chief Sustainability Officer, new sustainable packaging and a partnership with the Muhammad Ali Center to create a Peace Garden project.

This report is structured to share our achievements and opportunities, while outlining our ongoing commitment to our stakeholders and our CSR goals in four key content areas:

New this Year

Our 2010 report includes a number of enhancements to walk the talk of responsibility. This year, we are saving paper by publishing this report online only. It is printer-friendly and includes links in each section should you wish to print sections. However, we encourage viewing online and printing only if necessary.

Issuing our report online enables us to present the information to you in new and different ways. We're providing you with more in-depth coverage of our CSR initiatives by featuring engaging videos and relevant photography. We're also providing more information on our international units (i.e., Yum! China and Yum! Restaurants International) and their related CSR initiatives. And, you will hear directly from more of our senior leaders in this year's report through video messages from our Chief Sustainability Officer, Chief Food Innovation Officers and other brand leaders.

Reporting Period

The data in this report covers all company-owned operations (i.e., Yum! Brands, Yum! Restaurants International and Yum! China) for the 2009 and 2010 calendar years. As part of our CSR mission, we are committed to issuing CSR updates on a bi-annual basis. The 2008 report is available here.
