Pizza Hut Named the Most Trusted Quick-Service Restaurant Company in India by the Economic Times *** Pizza Hut the Only Restaurant to Place in Top 20

LOUISVILLE, KY, December 16, 2004 – The Economic Times’ (India) annual survey of the country’s “Top 50 Most Trusted Service Brands” rated Pizza Hut as the most trusted quick-service restaurant company in India. Pizza Hut India is part of Yum! Restaurants International, a division of Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE:YUM), the world’s largest restaurant company in terms of units.

“India represents a tremendous long-term growth opportunity for Yum! Restaurants International,” said Graham Allan, president of Yum! Restaurants International. “Today, we have only 100 Pizza Huts and KFCs, combined in India. With a population of nearly 1.1 billion people, a strong national infrastructure and a growing middle class, we have only scratched the surface of our full potential to bring our products to consumers across India,” added Allan.

The survey, which appears in The Economic Times’ December 15th edition, was conducted by ACNielsen’s ORG-MARG market research company. The survey asked more than 7,000 participants, across different socio-economic, age, income and geographic backgrounds, various questions in order to determine each company’s overall trust score.

According to the survey, Pizza Hut’s focus on value pricing is leading the way for other food service brands. Pizza Hut India is the only restaurant company to place in the Top 20. Pizza Hut India ranked 19 out of 50 overall on the list.

There are approximately 100 Pizza Hut restaurants in India and the company has recently introduced the KFC brand.
