Yum! Enjoys Great Growth In China
10 Years After Spin-Off

The last decade has been an excellent one for Yum! Brands’ China Division. Our business model under the theme “Rooted in China, Part of China” has been successful in winning customers. We are the country’s largest and most successful restaurant company.

KFC is the #1 QSR brand in the country. Pizza Hut is #1 in western casual dining. From 1997 to 2007 our KFC stores have increased nearly ten fold, from 216 to 2,100, spread throughout more than 450 cities. Pizza Hut has grown from 25 stores to more than 350. KFC’s menu has expanded from one with a dozen items to nearly fifty at present, focusing on melding Chinese flavors with KFC originals to create unique menu identity across the country.

Yum! China now has more than 130,000 employees and 1 billion annual customers. Our new brands are also doing well. Pizza Hut Delivery is now present in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Hangzhou; and the Chinese QSR brand, East Dawning, now has twelve stores in Shanghai.

Yum! China will continue to grow at its rapid expansion rate, opening on average more than one restaurant per day.
